Surface Mounting a Jack

Surface-mounted boxes are simple to install - as the name implies, they mount right onto the surface of a wall, so you don't have to cut into the wall. Adhesive-backed boxes are easier to mount than the screw-mounted kind but can't be moved once they're mounted.

The jack in your NetDay kit may look somewhat different from the one pictured here.
